Once the race resumed with a standing restart, Kimi Antonelli—who had been lurking close behind—made a brilliant move to overtake pole-sitter Lando Norris for the lead. The young Mercedes driver held the advantage for the majority of the race, appearing comfortable at the front. However, Norris, in his McLaren, showcased superior tire management and patience. As the race entered its final third, Norris steadily closed the gap, ultimately executing a clinical overtake on lap 45 to reclaim the lead.
