How our AI predicts F1
Not a lookup table, not a gut feel. A four-stage prediction engine reads the same data a pitwall sees, reasons through it, and publishes a forecast it can never quietly edit.
Four stages, one locked forecast
Every prediction on this site is produced by the same pipeline. No hand-tuning per race, no quiet edits after the flag — the process below runs for every session of every Grand Prix weekend.
Telemetry & Data Core
Every prediction starts from eight data domains rebuilt for that specific race: the confirmed starting grid, the full driver roster, live championship standings, a circuit profile with lap records and track type, results from the previous race weekend, every completed session of the current weekend, a block of engineered form metrics, and the engine's own scored accuracy history. All of it is ingested from official timing and results data after every session.
Engineered Form Signals
Raw results are converted into computed performance metrics before the model ever reasons about them: a rolling form index across recent rounds, race-day grid delta — who actually gains and loses positions when it counts — teammate qualifying head-to-heads, circuit-type performance profiles, reliability and DNF rates, and each driver's history at the same event.
Live Race Intelligence
Just before a prediction is generated, the engine runs a live search sweep across breaking F1 news: confirmed penalties, technical directives, weather forecasts, driver changes, and paddock developments the historical data alone cannot show. Every forecast reflects the state of the sport at the moment it is made.
Frontier Reasoning Core
A frontier AI reasoning model synthesizes all of it — data core, engineered signals, live intelligence — and writes a structured forecast with confidence levels and full reasoning you can read. After qualifying, race predictions are regenerated by our most capable configuration, re-anchored on the actual starting grid.
The part nobody else does
The moment a prediction is published, it is locked at the database level. It is never edited, regenerated, or deleted — what was written before the session is exactly what gets judged after it.
When the chequered flag falls, every prediction is scored against the official classification using a public weighted rubric — hits and misses alike. The complete season-long record is open to everyone.
How does AI predict F1 races?
The engine combines structured race data — standings, form, circuit history, session results — with engineered performance metrics and a live news search, then a frontier AI reasoning model weighs the evidence and writes a structured forecast with confidence levels for every call.
Can AI actually predict Formula 1?
Not perfectly — nobody can. F1 has crashes, safety cars, strategy gambles and weather. What AI can do is beat naive baselines consistently by weighing more evidence than a human can hold at once. Our public scoreboard shows exactly how often that works.
What data does the prediction model use?

Is this betting advice?
No. Predictions are informational and analytical content about probable race outcomes. They are not odds, tips, or gambling advice, and nothing on this site should be treated as a reason to place a bet.
When are predictions published and updated?
Predictions are generated ahead of each session across the race weekend — an early race outlook, a pre-weekend forecast, and updated calls after practice and qualifying. Each one is a separate locked record; later predictions never overwrite earlier ones.
